There are very few brands, which I think make a genuine difference.

Years ago, Nokia was one of those brands. Then things went wrong when they were taken over :(Jolla-Sailfish

I used to be the guy in the office who had an N9 (running MeeGo), people used to think it was a Windows phone sigh. Nobody quite got it, but I didn’t really care.

I got it, that was the main thing :)

Three years ago, I saw the Jolla Sailfish set sail (quite literally). It was the next stage of the MeeGo, and that really mattered to me - or so I thought.

I then went and got an Android phone. Great phone, it amazingly stable, has all the apps I need. But it doesn’t have the excellent swipe interface of the N9, and some of the menus are inconsistent, and hidden away.

Youtube recommended the Jolla tablet https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jBQdfcLhts8 The open platform, the passionate community, the swipe interface. For me, this is what it’s all about.

So it looks like I will be getting a Jolla in the near future. Yay.
